June 23rd-26th – Durham is experiencing the first significant heat wave of the season. Heat is a leading weather-related cause of death. Older adults who are 65 years and older have a higher risk of developing heat-related health problems. To locate a cooling station using your address, please visit the Durham City/County ArcGIS portal at – Cooling Station. Aging Well Durham will continue to update information about local cooling stations.


Improve your digital literacy skills this summer by working with a digital navigator. The Triangle Nonprofit and Volunteer Leadership Center is sponsoring free digital literacy workshops for older adults this July. Please see the attached flyer for more info.
