Nearly thirty older adults arrived at the Little River Complex in Bahama on Monday September 14th, for the Golden Life Partnership Resource Fair. End Hunger Durham, along with Aging Well Durham, have been producing Golden Life Partnership resource fairs since early 2026. Participating organizations were Aging Well Durham, Bike Durham, Bull City Votes, End Hunger Durham, GoDurham, YMCA, and more. There were old friends, lively raffles, chicken wings and cake, and good music to enjoy as well. Several people came in empty-handed, but left with t-shirts, gift cards, and other goodies from their raffle winnings.
Jacquelyne Blackwell, Executive Director for End Hunger Durham, spoke to AWD after the event.
“This was Golden Life Partnership’s first senior resource fair hosted in the county. All the material provided was geared to our senior population. It was a marvelous turn out with the help of Aging Well Durham. We were able to provide resources to 28 new friends. PACE* was kind enough to provide the food. Our goal was to provide resources to those who live outside the city limit and may have limited resources. We thank Harold Anderson and his staff at the Little River Complex for welcoming us. He has requested that we hold this event annually in September.’’
