The Golden Life Partnership hosts a resource fair at JJ Henderson
In collaboration with Aging Well Durham and other partners, the Golden Life Partnership hosted a community resource fair at JJ Henderson on Monday, November 10. The purpose of the fair was to bring community groups directly to the JJ Henderson residents and to promote membership with the Partnership.
It was a lively event with representatives from the Durham Center for Senior Life, the Durham Cooperative Extension, Durham County Department of Public Health, Centerwell, Senior PharmAssist, Alliance Health, Senior CommUnity Care PACE program and more. Associate Professor of the Practice of Dance at Duke, Sarah Wilbur, led everyone in a “Brain Dance,” a form of in-chair movement to Motown tunes. There was food, there was bingo, and AWD raffled off several highly coveted hoodies. AWD looks forward to continuing our collaboration with the Golden Life Partnership.
The Golden Life Partnership is a cooperative venture between agencies serving older adults and individuals who live in senior housing communities. The Partnership’s mission is to seek improvements in the overall health and well-being of older adults. The group is also a lead agency for the Older Adult Hunger and Nutrition domain of the 2025-2030 Durham Comprehensive Aging Plan.
